KUALA KUBU BARU: A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of the body of a woman in a rubbish pile here last Friday.

Sources revealed that the man, in his 30s, has been remanded for seven days since Wednesday to assist in investigations. Police will conduct a DNA test on the body against that of two families who had come forward to identify her.

“Both families were not able to identify the body because it was badly burnt, but agreed to a DNA test,” the sources said.

It is learnt that doctors who conducted the post-mortem estimated the victim’s age at between 30 and 40 years old.

Passers-by in a secluded area in Kampung Koskan, Serendah, near here, stumbled upon the burning body of the woman at 8.45am on Friday. No identification documents were found on her.

Police did not rule out the possibility that the woman could have been killed elsewhere. Yesterday, Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Norel Azmi Yahya Affendi said the woman was believed to have been suffocated before she was set on fire.
